Shakespeare's
The Rape of Lucrece
"Lucrece" quoth he "this

For in thy bed I purpose to destroy thee..."

by Gareth Armstrong.
“If you love
poetry, Shakespeare, or just a good story brilliantly
told don’t miss this show.” Fringe Review (Edinburgh
2008)
“Unmissable for all Shakespeare
fans” British
Theatre Guide (Edinburgh 2008)
“Sensational!” Sir Trevor Nunn
The British Shakespeare Company are proud to be the new producing
partner for Gareth Armstrong’s critically-acclaimed production
of Shakespeare's brilliant narrative poem The
Rape of Lucrece,
starring Gerard Logan in a tour-de-force solo-performance.
The British Shakespeare Company have formed this producing
partnership with Thievish Dog, Logan's own theatre company,
to help bring this astonishing piece of theatre to a wider
audience.
This stage adaptation is directed by Gareth
Armstrong who
has created many successful solo shows including his own award-winning “Shylock”,
and is performed by Gerard Logan who has played leading roles
with the National Theatre and the RSC (Olivier Award Nomination).
The Rape of Lucrece was a sell-out
success both in Edinburgh and during its London runs at the
prestigious King’s
Head Theatre, Sir Peter Hall’s Rose Theatre, Kingston
and the Rose, Bankside.
